The Flora Crosswalk Signal is a solar-powered walk signal situated in an open city square or on a sidewalk that
alternately displays a lit green plant symbol for several seconds, a flashing red plant symbol for several seconds, followed by a solid lit red plant symbol for several seconds. The Flora Crosswalk Signal mimics the functionality of a conventional crosswalk signal for human pedestrians, but instead of directing persons, it ostensibly directs the passage or presence of plants in the vicinity, and in the process conflates notions of pedestrian mobility and plant fixedness.
Note: The Flora Crosswalk Signal should not be placed where it might confuse pedestrians about the actual safety of crossing a street.
