Don’t toss your Christmas Tree out, toss it into a new composition!

7,000 Evergreens and the Institute for Aesthletics present the first ever Christmas Tree Toss to take place September 5 on Long Island in Easthampton.

Participants will toss javelins that 7,000 Evergreens has retrofitted with recycled artificial evergreen Christmas trees. When the Christmas tree javelins land, they automatically plant themselves in the ground as a new tree in the landscape. Once all of the participants have thrown their Christmas trees, the resulting composition of trees will be, like an early Ellsworth Kelly drawing, a product primarily of chance (and each participant’s physical ability.)
